Summer – High Mountain Area

For a great day out at high altitude…

You’re in a high-mountain area, sometimes in the Ecrins National Park.

Help us preserve them by leaving no trace of your visit:
– Photograph, smell, but don’t pick the flowers
– Put your rubbish in the bins at the cable car stations
– Don’t make noise or light fires
– Do not ride mountain bikes in the National Park

You may even spot chamois and marmots.

A few tips…

• Be careful about the routes you take, and tell someone close to you where you are going.
• On the glacier, don’t walk around without ropes or mountaineering equipment, as you run the risk of falling into crevasses.
• Keep an eye on the times and the weather You are at 3200 m, and the weather can change abruptly.
• For yourself and your children, remember to apply sun cream regularly and wear sunglasses.
• Children under the age of 2 are advised not to go to high altitudes: 1800m of ascent in 30 minutes is not the same as driving over the Col du Lautaret or flying in a plane with a pressurised cabin (equivalent to an altitude of 2000m).
