Follow-up to the temporary shutdown of the cable car facilities due to the replacement of the 1st Section suspension cable, following the site incident on 20 January 2025.
Reopening scheduled for 15 March 2025
Dear Customers, Dear Partners,
SATG would like to inform you of the incident that occurred on 20 January 2025. This incident, which caused no casualties or injuries, was immediately dealt with by our technical teams. In the interests of transparency and safety, we have decided to suspend operations in order to analyse the situation in detail and take stock of the damage caused. The aim of this in-depth analysis at the end of the week was to determine what action needed to be taken and to mobilise all the resources required to ensure that the service could be resumed as quickly as possible and in optimum safety conditions.
The technical teams and our partner companies, in collaboration with the independent experts, are working actively to finalise the inspections and implement all the corrective measures required. Following these analyses, we have been able to schedule the reopening of the facilities for 15 March.
A constant commitment to safety and the region
The safety of our users, our partner companies and our employees remains at the heart of our priorities. Although this temporary stoppage is exceptional in terms of its duration and consequences, it is part of our proactive approach to maintaining impeccable safety standards at our facilities.
Practical information
We would like to thank our users and partners for their understanding and patience. We will be communicating regularly on the progress of the work and the details of the resumption.
Until the cable cars are back in operation, we will continue to provide our customers with assistance. To welcome our skiers who have planned an upcoming stay in our area, SATA Group aeon is providing a 50-seater shuttle bus from the La Grave cable car station with direct access to the Les 2 Alpes lifts.
During the first 2 weeks of the French school holidays, the schedule is changing:
From Saturday 8 February to Sunday 23 February:
Ski passes are still on sale at the La Grave cable car ticket office, but between 7.15am and 7.45am for an 8.00am shuttle departure.
A second departure will take place at 9.15am with ski passes on sale from 8.15am to 9.00am.
Passengers will be dropped off at the foot of the Les 2 Alpes ski lifts for quick access to the slopes.
Hosts and hostesses will be on hand at departures or during the journey to welcome, accompany and inform passengers and ensure that boarding goes smoothly.
For the return journey to La Grave, meet at the foot of the JANDRI 3S from 4.15pm for the shuttle departure at 4.30pm.
This shuttle is exclusively reserved for customers purchasing their ski pass at the La Grave ticket office.
For season passes (non conventionnés) purchased at La Grave, access to the shuttle will be subject to remaining places and the validity of the pass.
For SuperNova passes purchased at other AEON sites, access to the shuttle is subject to availability.
In the interests of smooth operations, users must inform us the day before (before 3pm) of their intention to use it and for how many people on caisse@la-grave.com (and if possible also provide us with a mobile number).
Registrations will only be taken into account once we have received a reply and confirmation of your departure time by email.
This arrangement is subject to change should the weather conditions change. Our customer service team will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
